Can anyone please explain to me how to remove the tail shaft housing on a T10. It looked pretty easy but now I can get it off or back on. Help.

Thanks:(

First, take the outer bolts off. There's a pin that you need to tap out with a punch towards the bottom of the transmission on the reverse side lever, then you have to pull the reverse lever outwards, but just far enough to create clearance for the slider rail inside....if you pull it too far out, then the ball and retainer spring will come out and it's somewhat of a pain to get it back in....I've done it myself before:yes:. It will also be necessary to have the main case side cover off to catch the shim(s) inside the case, and so you know what order they go in. After that, it should come off. Getting it back on, you have to make sure that reverse slider is in the right position to slip back over the ring or 'half pulley type' on the reverse gear.
