ITS FUNNY BECAUSE AS SOON AS I INSTALLED THAT CARB. THIS PROBLEM STARTED!!!!

Bob Cunningham Sep 12th, 03, 5:52 AM I assume you've checked for vacuum leaks?
Sometimes moving old rubber hose around can cause small vacuum leaks where you wouldn't expect them.

hotrodder383 Sep 13th, 03, 12:36 AM I HAVE ALL NEW HOSES AND I HAVE CHECKED FOR LEAKS BUT NONE FOUND. COULD THE PVC VALVE HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT,KEEPING IN MIND IT ALL STARTED WITH THE NEW HOLLEY. B.Y.T. IT ALSO TENDS TO BOG ON HARD AND SOMETIMES LITE ACCLERATION ,MOSYLY WHEN ITS COLD , BUT SOMETIMES WARM ALSO. WHAT COULD BE THE CUASE OF THAT.
THANKS FOR ANY HELP
Dan396ss68 Sep 14th, 03, 12:10 AM I hope you checked float level.
Is it ported vac.or manifold vac.?
Set air mix. for highest vac. then back one and a quarter turn.
Recheck timing before all else though.

70mousejob Sep 20th, 03, 9:34 AM Hotrodder (name),
What PV is in the carb? Also, do as these guys say and double check float level. It sounds like it just needs some holley tuning. I see your from Long Beach, do you go to any of the local cruise ins? Oh, by the way, all caps is considered yelling and impolite. Just fyi.
Best of luck, maybe I'll see you around, there aren't too many so cal'ers on here.

Neal Wright Sep 23rd, 03, 12:39 PM I was just playing with mine last night, so that is why this comes to mind.
Are you making sure to set your idle speed (rpm) with the engine completely warmed up? The throttle cam has little notches that make it run faster when it's cold ... but most carbs will go to the slow notch, when you kick it down.
Anyhow, just make sure not to set your idle with it on a high rpm notch ... Or, it will drop to nothing when you kick it down.
P.S. I don't write this to insult anyone, but we've all forgotten the little things before.
hotrodder383 Oct 30th, 03, 3:23 AM thanks for the help. seems to be running better but still drops in idle a bit!
