nope.

do a search on it, many people have great success running rect manifold on oval port heads.

since the air is being sucked in, its all good.

i believe they use fel-pro rect gaskets.

So that means I can buy rectangle port manifold, and use them on my oval heads until i get the money for some good rectangle port heads,I found out the heads I had was'nt any good so i had to get a cheap set of ovals till i can get a good set of rectangle port and i dont want to have to buy 2 intakes.i oval and when i get my good heads a rectangle intake.

Its an old argument here but Chevy Hi Performance just did a real nice article comparing the two and ovals won hands down . I mean if you are into numbers then by all means but for street performance go oval. Im sure someone will jump on this but get the article . I mean when Smokey said they were only useful on a nascar track no one can argue with his pedigree. After all we need torque to move these hogs not horsepower!!! my 2 cents let the argument begin, yes I was like this in school also

rudedog, The rect port intake will work just fine on the oval heads. I ran a 396 for years that way. I had a GM Alum. intake that I really wanted to run. Looked really cool....but I did notice a lack of bottom end torque. Changed over to a GM Cast iron oval port intake with a holley pattern. Torque all over the place. With your situation, I'd say go ahead and run the rect intake, then when you get the rect heads you will be all set. rb6667
