I have a '67 with a 350 and a 400 trans, that has a stock converter and a shift kit in it. My problem is this, if I drive nice and easy the car sounds fine. If I get on it even a little bit I am getting a loud chattering noise that seems to be coming from the torque converter area of the car if I let of and drive easy it goes away. I havent got the slightest idea what it is but it doesnt sound good. If anyone has any ideas what might be wrong your help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks Ken.

Two things come to mind:

1)Check the three torque converter to Flywheel bolts. They have been know to come loose.....

2)check both u-joints. High probability it might be a bad u-joint. It might sound like its coming from the tc, but a bad u-joint can sound like its coming from a lot of places......
