Here's what I got going(still)
Early 350 4-bolt block,030 over, stock dish pistons,10-10 crank, rebuilt rods,& a basically stock Herbert flat tappet hyd cam.The Edelbrock timing chain set is installed properly.
I'm putting a set of stock Vortech heads & edelbrock intake on it.
Last night I put the heads on & adjusted all the valves,,no problems.
I put some old spark plugs in the heads so I could paint everthing.Just for giggles,I tried to turn the engine over with the plugs in it,& it is HARDER THAN H..L to turn!
No binding, put TONS of pressure. The piston rings are gapped correctley,& Im using a fel-pro Blue head gasket thats .045 untorqued.
Its so hard to turn that I dont think a starter will crank it over.
I'm totally lost here,,,any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
Oh,& I'm using a 1/2" drive racthet thats about 13" long,& a crank-turning nut on the end of the crank.
Thanks

What is the torque required to turn the engine over without the spark plugs installed?

compretion is our friend if it's hard to turn over with plugs in no prob. I'd pull the plugs and see if she rolls freely, if it's rough with plugs out. post again, we have problem's....

Fire,
I am closing this thread since you have one going on the same subject over in "engines"

Best to post in one area only, keeps the confusion factor low smile.gif
