Blower motor on my 70 with air was working fine in all speeds yesterday. Today---nothing. Fuse is good. Any suggestions for trouble shooting to make sure it is the motor before pulling?

Check to see if you have power at the blower motor.Reach in and disconnect the wire going to the blower i believe its orange. With a test light connected to bat- ground see if you have power at the connecter when fan is switch on.If you do its a blower or ground problem. If you don't check connections and your blower resister block.Should have one if AC equipt.Maybe burnt out.Good luck C-yaaa Vince

Replaced my blower motor a couple months back, it quit all of a sudden also. Turns out it would work with the cage pointed straight up, but with the cage horizontal (like it is when mounted in the car) it wouldn't do anything.

New motor was less than $25.00 at Kragen on Midway Drive, just east of Rosecrans (had one in stock!).

Thanks for the input/help guys.
I can't even think about seeing the blower motor to disconnect the wires from but could see purple & black wires going over the fender well in that direction. Traced them back & found them exiting the wire harness with the purple wire going to a relay & the black going to ground on the fire wall. Pulled the connector from the relay & hooked 12 V to the purple wire. Motor works fine. After doing that I'm thinking it might be the switch & started moving it thru the detents. Thought I heard the motor trying to run & moved the lever slowly. Upon doing this I discovered the fan has the 2nd & 3rd speeds in between the detents but no hi or low speeds. With this I'm thinking switch. What do you think? Thanks again for your help.

If your getting some fan operation,it sounds like your blower resister is shot.Replace with new and try again. But that only allows high speed to run if shot, huumm could be the switch. Good luck C-yaaa Vince

Pull the dash cover off and disconnect the plugs from the back of the switch. Then jump the hot on each (one for A/C, one for vent settings), you'll only get max fan on the max A/C side. Don't have the wiring diagram handy, maybe someone knows what to jump where. My new switch came from Gold Eagle Classics, cost about $20 with shipping...

Thanks again for the suggestions guys. It ended up being the switch. Better than changing the blower motor----I think. Nice Sprint Cecil. Ever go to La Mesa Thursday nights?
