There is a chance that we may be relocating to NW washington sometime.

I was just wondering about some good areas to live - I don't want to live directly in the city, if I'm going to be in all that rain I might as well have some trees around! Will only have to travel into seattle about once a week so being an hour away is no big deal. (can you even get across seattle in 1 hour?) Cost of housing would be somewhat of a factor.

I've seen some pics from Bremerton - my first choice would be to live in the grass by the parking lot. ;)

Silverdale isnt half bad to tell yah the truth, and Seattle is an hour boat ride away. Traffic on this side of the water is alot better also. And housing is cheaper I believe. What kind of work do you do?

Bremerton area close to the track sounds nice.
Lakewood area in Tacoma is far too crowded...and too far off the freeway

Head up north a little bit or over east a little ways from Seattle and cost of living isn't too bad, plus you have I90 or I5 to bring you into the city no problem.

My job is very portable (wherever there's internet :) ) the wife may be up for a promotion = moving. This is still very much preliminary, but I just want to get a good idea of where to look.

the olympia area is nice. it's about an hour to Seattle with no traffic. Plus it's the capitol, if any of you forgot.. My dad has commuted to seattle/tukwilla/samamish everyday for 9 years. plus it's 50min. to the track

Hour and a half with traffic, maybe more depending on how stupid people want to be lol

I wish you were back in Yelm so I could
1. Spank your Chevelle with my Elky
2. Break into the 12s with you watching
3. Meet you at lunch and scare you into working more/spending more on your car

Amazing what a correctly set accelerator pump will do.....:p
It worked good on the Vette....just never checked. Note to self, check everything:yes:

Jeremy,
No intel on Port Orchard....sorry.
Graham, Spanaway...ridiculous traffic coming north to I-5.
FIFE is interesting.....right on I-5, I do not think Auburn or the Algona-Pacific area is too expensive yet....Cobalt Mike knows Bonney Lake and Sumner

I like the Puyallup/Edgewood/Sumner/Fife/Bonney Lake/Buckley areas....I grew up here and it's not too much city and not too much redneck/backwoods/banjo music totin' hicks:D I'm about 50 minutes to Seattle here on South Hill Puyallup, traffic isn't that bad on I-5, just don't go HWY 167 in the early mornings:noway: Way cheaper than King County(don't get me going on that liberal county), and not too far south like Paul in Thurston County:p Freeway access to Hwy 512, Hwy 167, I-5 and Hwy 410 all within 15 minutes of me. My Grandparents were the 3rd family in the Bonney Lake area in 1952, so yeah I know the area pretty well.

Yelm, that's where my Dad lives, it's nice but too far away for me.

Graham/Spanaway is just before Yelm, more rural. Depending on the area, it can be a good place to live, but also lots of drugs in certain places.

Bremerton/Port Orchard=depressed economy mostly but a nice area, as long as you don't live around a bunch of drug users/dealers. I'm not a fan of paying a toll for the bridge...that's why I don't go over there much.

Seattle and north of Seattle, up until you get into more rural areas like Arlington, people are pretty stuck up/"I have more money than you", etc. for the most part and don't know how to drive, or look like drowned rats with no class....in my opinion. EXPENSIVE. You better like sitting in traffic:sad:

Sequim.....uh, does anybody live there other than retirees?

Oh yeah, 45-50 mins to either Bremerton OR Pacific Raceways from here, beat THAT:p I know '69 Brian lives in Covington....he's practically in Pacific Raceway's back yard.

Port Orchard is a good place to live, the commute time to Seattle would be just over an hour one way. I live just south of Port Orchard and my wife commutes to Seattle 2 or 3 times a week. It's very nice out here and if your looking for property, houses between north Gig Harbor and south Port Orchard are a good place to look and most have external shops already built. The cost of living and general commuting is what brought us back to the Penninsula.
On the Seattle side of the water, look towards Maple Valley. Des Moines is nice and well located too but can be pricey, it's got one of the best public schools in the state though if that's a concern. Don't go north of Seattle, the traffic and commute is some of the worst in the country, specialy if you have to commute past Everett.
