I currently run a Holley Red pump. Works great, however I can not isolate the noise of the pump. Is there a better pump to use? possibily an intank?

is there a reason you "need" an electric pump? A high output mechanical should be able to do the job.... I ran one on my low 11 second car just fine.

No I don't need one per say. I initial put it on thinking it was something needed if I ever put nos on the car, which was a misunderstanding on my part. However I do like the "security" of shutting the fuel off and priming the system with the electric. Just he r.r.r.r.r is starting to drive me nuts.

What mechanical do you run?

javablack, do you have it mounted on the frame rail too?

yep, I cant hear it when the engine is running. the flows drown out the pump noise:D

hmm can you shoot me a picture of how you have it mounted then. I can hear mine to 30 40 mph with flows too. Maybe I have some room for improvement.

throw the vane pump in the junk box and get a 'gerotor' pump, much quieter..

do you have a suggestion on brand?

How about this one, says its quiet, and internally regulated (no need for a separate regulator):

One thought it to increase the rubber mounts attaching the pump to the frame. If the pump is mounted solid to the frame the frame can transfer the sound.

I bought this one. Drove 25 miles to the track. Made a couple of 1/8th mile passes. Pump quit. Took my Holley Blue apart, epoxied the magnets back on, been running a couple of years now. It's music to my ears. LJ
