HI ALL, just last weekend i bought the whole series of life on mars on dvds, it is brilliant because its my favourite era and i remember every single music track like it was yesterday, i also remember the cars mainly because they were british and crap, ok the ford cortina was the best car in it. i dont know if they use the exact storyline in the states but if they do you are in for a treat. dont know if you are aware but they made a follow up series called ashes to ashes set in 1981, it is supposed to be even better then life on mars.
its strange that i never got into it when it first came out, given the two titles being david bowie tracks, and bowie my musical god. must have missed a few early episodes and never bothered until now. the thing is , its very very addictive, myself and liz are watching 3 and 4 hours every night , we play spot the car and who is the band. its brilliant. i tried to download some of the american version , bit it wont allow you to do this outside of the states. anybody any idea when it is coming out on dvd, or has anybody got a spare copy on dvd.:D

Liam,
Are you referring to the US version on "Life on Mars" with Michael Imperioli (from Sopranos)?
If so, I don't think it's available on DVD yet...according to Amazon. :(

Liam, if you do a search i bet you can find one that'll play internationally. A lot of shows are reboradcast in Spanish speaking countries and typically those find their way to the web. Might try www.tvokay.com

Has anyone seen the new TV show "Life On Mars"? There was a really sweet looking Chevelle SS on it in a cream colour and had a really deep rumble to the exhaust. If I am not mistaken it is a 71 with Cragar classic rims.

Anyone?

saw it last night. Looks yellow to me but has the cragars and sounds pretty meaty. Fuuny thing is it looks alot like several cars that are on the board now and it`s suppost to be 1973. Thats a little before my time so I don`t know how the cars actually looked back then.

I like to watch that show. The 71 looks correct for the time peiod. The Cragars were very popular at that time.

I also like the numerous stars that are on the show.

I watch it every week. I like the show for the Car..and then the show. :)

I'll check when I get home, last season it did have Black stripes. I can't remember (duh) if the last episode if the car had stripes on it or not.

Now..that's got me confused.

For you younguns... jacking the back end up to the sky with air shocks was also popular back then, throw on a set of Cragers and you were set.

I bet it was, but this one sets level...thank Goodness. :)

I have A/S on mine, but I don't like the rear end in the sky though.

The car definitely has black stripes. My wife and I love the show and just watched it last night from the DVR. Great show with some really great period music. I was a junior in high school in '72-'73. Other than my dad passing in February of '73 at trhe age of 43, it was a great year. Great music, great cars, mini-skirts, etc.
