i was offered a complete (new) set of disc brakes for $200, but i'm not sure if they will work for my 71 chevelle.
inside the box... the paperwork states that the set is for a 62-67 nova.
since they are both A body cars... will they work?

Nova isnt an A body. X body, no clue if the swap can be done though.

I think only 68 to 74 X body will swap onto a 71 chevelle.:) Search here or google it.
