This is driving me out of my MIND!!!!
After driving around for a while, my speedometer cable(i assume) starts making the most irritating clicking sound in time to how fast the car is moving.
The speedo works fine- No bouncing or anything- Just that darn sound!
How do I fix this? Do i need a new speedo cable, or can i grease this somehow?
The sound is coming directly from the speedometer area, not the floor area.

Thanks-
Ben

Ben,
have you tried to lube the cable with powdered graphite? ...messy, but can be most effective on the cable.

the one in your 70 should be similar to my 66. Just pull the inner worm out of the housing from one end, apply the messy black powder, and feed it back in. Don't be stingy with it. One application should reflect a difference if that was indeed the problem.
