I'm tired of seeing politics come up in threads. Case in point the "hobby in danger" thread under performance right now.
Starts out with a "take action" message and ends up being a bitch fest with people repeating whatever Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly tell them.
On another message board if you bring up hot-button issues you get one warning and then you're banned from the site.

... so a political item - crushing 'junk' cars for cash gets posted and you don't want the natural responses that will include political comments?

If other forums can keep politics out of conversations on the same topics then we can too. I prefer to take action over bitching.

I reply allot to those posts...
Maybe I shouldnt but things erk me when people post garbage that they dont even research or bother to understand.
Everyone then jumps on the bandwagon and starts bashing...their posts clearly show a lack of education, respect and integrity.
Reminds me of the trailer park attitude.
Somone farts at their table at breakfast and by lunch everyone smelled it and blames it on everyone else.
Those posts should be locked OR moved to CE.
OR perhaps AL could create a politics/auto industry category...then those that want to post their garbage can post it in there...

I don't disagree that sometimes a thread will get really flipped into a political thing - happens all the time. Usually when it gets too far off track, it will get moved or it just dies for lack of response.
I personally don't have a problem reading any of the political 'insert' - if you will - to any of the threads... sometime they are funny, sometimes misguided and sometimes unneeded.

Politics aren't a problem if they're discussed in a civilized manner... Check out "Current Events". It's all politics, and stays pretty civil.

Go to your "User CP" - then to Networking, then to "Group Memberships" and you can check a box to get into CP.
(User CP is on the left side of the second blue line banner, next to blogs.)
