WTF.
I got the engine put in (454 .070 over). Fought the tranny in too (700R4). Fixed the tranny line leak. Drove the car about 100-125 miles so far. Oil still leaks out sometimes after a cool down near the oil filter. Engine runs at an average 180 degrees. Big Car Craft Summer Nationals show in 3 Days.

This is not a problem.....

Last night I was looking to see the oil level and noticed a strange CocaCola coloring to my oil with white "smoke" like streaks in it. Nearly broke my 1-3/4" wrench over my knee.

Drain the oil when its cold,make sure you get the first qt. in a glass jar-if theres water/antifreeze in the oil it will be at the bottom of the oil pan,first thing i would check MIKE

sounds like cooling in your oil.i would do a pressure test on your cooling system to see if you have a blown head gasket or cracked head.better safe then sorry

You did use sealer on the head bolts, right? If not, its time for horse pills from GM.

Just out of curiosity, how did you seal your head bolts? My small block had quite a bit of water in the oil :eek: after the rebuild. Drained the oil, put permatex on the head bolts one at a time, absolutely no H2O in the oil after that.

First time through, my print o seal head gaskets took care of the seepage. Good luck graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I think I figured it out mostly......

I didd'nt put the engine together so I would'nt know about the Headbolt thing, but I do remember using a lot of red grease to put my fuel pump in. Hence the Coca-Cola coloring. This might also explain why I have a little smoke at the tailpipes and the breather on the valvecovers. But does this explain the "White Stuff" in the oil as well? :confused:
