Thanx to all. You guys have been a lot of help so far & I'm getting closer but I still can't get enough adjustment with my BB clutch linkage. I've installed an OEM clutch unit i.e. raised diaphragm pressure plate w/ short throwout bearing, new GM clutch fork, and correct BB adjusting rod but it doesn't reach the fork!
The fork ball stud in the housing is 1.5" as called for & I do have the BB z-bar ball stud mounted correctly on the block. I can use a small block adjustment arm and it will work because it's longer but I still don't know what the real problem is. Feedback appreciated. Rain Man

Are you positive the fork is correct?

New to the site so I don't know what was written before, so I'll put my 2 cents in. I recently put a clutch in for a friend of mine and thought I had the same problem. The 1/2" pedal free play and the feel was all correct. Clutch did not release and I thought the pressure plate was bad. It actually was the rust preventative on the pressure plate, it acted like glue. They used a water based rust-preventative that is water clear and you can't see or feel it. I had to move the car out of the way so I started it in gear and it broke free. I consulted the company that made the kit and determined that was what it had to be in my case. graemlins/waving.gif

Hmmm... My GM parts book shows the fork ball stud in the bellhousing to be 13/16"-16 w/21/32" diameter for 64-67.

Check http://www.team67.com/groups/index.htm and click the "Group 0.000 Engine - Clutch" link then "Clutch Cover and Parts". Straight out of GM's parts book.
