The wipers on my '66 Chevelle are not working. Fuse is good. I have 12 volts at "yellow" wire on motor with ignition switch in "on" position also reading 12 volts at other two connections on wiper motor. All this is with wiper switch in "off" position. With switch in "on" position I have 12 volts at all three connections on wiper motor. Is motor bad. I say so. Thanks for the help.

TODD J-unplug the yellow and light blue connector(on the side near the firewall)check the ohms reading on the light blue wire.
off position - 0 ohms
Low position -2 ohms
High position - 30 ohms
If your in the ball park on these readings that means the switch is good and the chance of having a bad motor just increased graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Todd,
There is a relay in the motor houseing with a cam, When the switch is turned to the off position, The motor will not stop until the cam reaches park (Wipers down) This is why you have 12 volts on a lead with the switch off. Most of the problem with this relay is it sticks and the wipers will not turn off with the switch. Try moveing the wiper blades a small amount,(Not enough to bend or break something) graemlins/angry.gif graemlins/clonk.gif After 35+ years the grease in the drive can get a little sticky and not let the relay operate. After 35+ years the motor can also be bad.
