Having been a devoted '71 & '72 Chevelle freak since high school, I've always wanted to branch out to either a '66 or '67 model someday. I came across a Craigslist ad last week for a '66 Chevelle Malibu located in VT and the price was right, plus it's in my favorite condition: IN NEED OF TOTAL RESTORATION!

So, I've got a lot to learn about '66 models as I dive into yet another project car. The spare ZZ502 and TH400 now have a home! Here's a picture:

Congrats! My son's and I plan to do a 66 - 67. My '71 will always be my favorite but I've always liked the lines of these as well.

nice....you will like doing the 66 so much better than the 70ish....my first car was a '69....now I have a '67....everything is so much more simple...no printed circuits, vacuum operated heat/air doors/valves, door buzzers, ect.....have fun !!

Floors, rockers, doors & trunk are all solid. Previous owners did some panel replacement. I believe the rear window opening, LR quarter panel and the LF fender are the only problem areas. It's not a 138 car...But, Malibu or Super Sport are not an issue anyway due to my wild plans for this one! Look for a very large CID BBC sporting a roots-style supercharger strapped to a built TH400. That's the plan (or dream) at the moment.... :)
