I want to put in new body bushing in my 71 convertible while the body is still on the frame. After i get the bolts loose and the car in the air where do i lift to get the body off the frame.

Most of the time, people that choose to do the body bushings without lifting the body completely off just do one side at a time by loosening all the bolts and taking out the one side that they are doing and place a floor jack under that side with a piece of lumber on it to support the car. Do a search, probably in the body and paint forum to get more advice.

I put a 4x4 wood post under the side and used it to jack up one side.

just whatever you do don't open the doors when it is in the air, and watch fender gaps.
