Guys,My 68'chevelle SS (NOM 396) has the stock (other than carb, cam, and intake) engine.Currently I have the PCV valve on the drivers side and the 1" elbow, extention hose, going to the lower tube on the drop base of the air cleaner. If I change from stock chrome valve covers to nicer cast/chromed aluminum set like Ground up's item#396tjvc-1, I would drill the PCV side and use it but would I have to drill the other side and use the metal 1" elbow and extention hose? With the stock set-up I have now,If I put my hand over the extention hose with the engine running, there's ALOT of vacuum pull from it.I just wouldn't want to suck in my oil pan, valve cover, intake GASKETS with this change or am I thinking of "the Worst"to much?Seems that the stock set-up pulls ALOT of air flow away from the carb.

Hello, All you gotta do is install your PCV in the left front v/cover front section and put your breather tube fitting in the right v/cover towards the rear of it. This system and set up promotes good ventilation of the motor. There is alot of gases that form inside a running engine and having the PCV and breather tubes connected help disapate them thru the induction system. Yes there may be alot of vacumn going thru the hose and PCV but that is normal. Make sure you replace your PCV if it has not been for awhile, they like to get sticky and the valve will not function right, Cruise on

What Craig said seems fine.
