: How to retrieve past topics?

When I log on to some of the areas, general tech for example, only the recent threads show. Are there some parameters I need to set to search older topics? Funny thing, I was having a problem and I had searched the forums and did not see anything related. When I googled the problem one of the links was to a thread on an old general tech subject that addressed my problem exactly, of which I can't seem to access through our site.
Thanks.

At the bottom left of the forum you change which threads are shown, how many days back. You can also got user control panel, User CP, on the left of the blue menu bar at the top, Edit Options, Thread Display Options. There you can also change what threads are displayed.

EDIT: If you change it in User CP it will stay that way. If you change it from the forum default while in the forum it will go back to the default the next time you go to that forum.

If I could be so bold, I'd like to suggest an improvement to this great site.
Team Members should be able to create individual pages that can be edited, much like a wiki, that address specific areas of interest. These articles could be indexed here on Team Chevelle and would provide an editable reference on - for example "Disc Brake Upgrade" or "SS Option Verification" or "Wheel/Tire Upgrade" or "Engine Identification" and so forth.
These pages would be an authoritative source that members could consult and would hopefully reduce the number of repetitive questions on the same subject.
There are many members here that seem to spend alot of time restating the same info over and over. Instead, they could be writing an article that would be much more informative and complete.

What do you think?

The mods can post stickys at the top of forum for info like that. Problem is too many stickys and the new posts end up on the 2nd page. Maybe a subforum with stickys for common questions/answers.

I like that idea.

I agree that many times the same question is repeated and the answers are already here. It is odd that after spending more than 40 minutes on our site looking for a previous thread on my problem I found a direct google search to a 1 year old thread in 30 seconds. Maybe that is an oddity but there is a ton of great info on this site that somehow gets buried. Just my 2 cents but that is probably why the same question gets asked a multitude of times.
