I would say, alternator, and carb, depending on CFM. I had to replace just about everything else.

Isnt the bellhousing on standards swapable? What about the flywheel or flexplate?

You can use the same bellhousing. Also starter, alternator. Flywheel from 350 and 396 are the same but 454 uses a counterweight on the flywheel.

Also AC compressor. I used the same power steering pump but don't remember if I had to switch brackets. Distributor and carb good. I don't know about the brackets for alt. AC.

Yea, without the counterweight you'll vibrate till something breaks.

are most 454 flywheels the same? 70's through the late 80's?

There are sb 400 counter weighted fws also don't use those. The damper is special also for the 454

I would think that the old 2 piece rear main 454s would use the same flywheel but double check.

Well my 454 has a flexplate currently. I am trying to get a list together so I can buy the parts.

So far I need motor mounts. Probably alt/ps brackets, and an intake.
Flywheel, starter.

Will the clutch work though? I think it would...

Gaskets of course...

Tranny should work. I used solid mounts and I think they were the same for SBC and BBC.

solid motor mounts?

I thought the mounts were different regardless?

I think they are the same.

your prolly right then...

Do the solids allow vibration to flow into the car?

Why should I choose solid over rubberized?

The mounts are the same for 350/454 (tall/narrow)...307's take a different mount (short/wide)....solid mounts will transfer more vibration BUT I've used em before and to be honest never really noticed

Correct and you can use either one as long as the engine mount matches the frame mount. Either one will bolt on to the engine.

As Glibert said, all the accessories, dist, alt, ac, power steering, bellhousing will work. Brackets for alt, power steering, ac will not. Balancer and flywheel for 454 are different than 396/402 and small block
