: How Should I Paint my Springs?

Would like to paint my springs in my garage. They are removed from the car and I have sanded them down and there is some rust pitting.

Was thinking of using Eastwoods Rust Enscapulator and their deail gray.

Or should I use an etching primer and than what? Thanks.

James that will work just fine. Also check out rubadubs site for painting tips.

Looks great Brad.. I just open my box of Moog Springs and noticed that they have some type of rubber coating on them. What's the odds of having paint stick to them? The coating looks real nice but I wanted to go the natural steel look myself.

I guess you could break out the razor knife and start peeling it off?
It might be some kind of plastic coating and if it is you can try some of that plastic paint called fusion it will stick to the plastic, the only problem is it might be limited in colors?

powder coating would last longer

But sure sucks to touch up if you need to....so by those definitions paint is indefinite where powder is not.

Hey Brad,

How come you've got nuts/bolts on those ball joints instead of rivets? :D

Actually, your front suspension looks killer. Great job!

A few years ago and you still haven't put them on, and I thought I was lazy.
