My power steering just stopped working, doesnt make any unusual noise, belt is good, full of fluid, the pulley spins just like it should. Ive never heard of this, how can this happen? I had that happen on my Cutlass once. I had this problem on my pickup also. If you remove the fan belt the shaft will be broken inside the pump and the pulley and part of the shaft will pull out of the pump.
