How much weight would I take off if I switched to a fiber glass bumper and plactic fender wells on a 68 chevelle? Thanks for your input.:beers:

If i remember correctly the steel bumper with brackets on my 68 weighed 35#
and the fiberglass bumper with only the inner flat brackets weighted 8#
i will guess on the inner fenderwells weight at 15#-each
and the plastic inner wells should be about 4#-each

weight removed should be close to 27# on the bumper + 22# on the wells=maybe 49#'s

you could loose more than that by using a glass hood, the stocker weighs about 55#. :)

Alum. calipers, although pricy, can cut near 40# off the nose. That is, assuming you have disk brakes.

with a different 427 n.a. + L88 cam&pistons it went 12.4x@109mph on slicks and 12.65@110mph on BFG-drag radials.
I'm also at a mile high in elevation here so i loose about 15% of my power due to thin air.
People that go to Phoenix or another track near the Texas border seem to pick-up about 0.5-0.75 seconds off their ET due to the better air and lower elevation.
I haven't run the blown 427 at the track yet, hoping for 10.xx ET, should be attainable with this configuration/boost pressure.
