You just need a couple of pipes to extend it out to where it is easily drained. Worked for me. I'm too fat and lazy to work hard. HEEE rubadub Jan 20th, 09, 2:22 AM Here you go. http://www.1969supersport.com/ojig33.jpg Handy-dandy compressor drain, use your foot. DONTWANT2 Jan 20th, 09, 8:02 AM they make an electric air spitter that you can set how often it goes off. 110 operated. I have them at the shop I work at. Dean Jan 20th, 09, 8:12 AM My compressor had an automatic drain that opened every time the pressure got down to a certain low #. Rob's looks like an easy solution. busterwivell Jan 20th, 09, 1:07 PM I built a little enclosed shed for mine behind the shop. It's vented well, thought. I pulled the plug out of the bottom of the tank, got a fitting from the hardware store, a 90 and enough pipe to plumb it outside the "shed". I put a ball valve on the end. I turn the compressor off at the end of the day, open the valve and drain it. rubadub Jan 21st, 09, 12:17 AM A little more here for what its worth. When your done at the end of the day always drain your inline filters, the way I do it, is drain the tank, just a quick pssst to get the majority of the water out of it, then I will have full pressure on the inline filters, then shut off the main line line to the in line filters, then just crack the wing nut on the inline filter or filters, if you have several open them up all at the same time. Open them wide open after you cracked each one, after they drain out, if you have a problem with your compressor pump your finger tips will feel oily, this tells you something went wrong in the pump. By catching it right away you can fix or change pumps or whatever, and your air lines won't be saturated with oil. This happened to me and I caught it in time, saved me a replumb of the airlines. Air compressors are your main tool, keep an eye on them. Rob karl Jan 22nd, 09, 2:44 AM maybe im lazy but my compressor doesnt get used much. im spoiled and find myself turning a wrench on a creeper caveman style. i learned to be a mechanic before i had a compressor. i do want my tank to last though. |
