This particular Chevelle has been for sale by a couple of dealers over the past two years. Shows up regularly on Ebay about every three weeks or so. Price started out at $89,900, then in a few months they had it at $69,900, then a few months later had it at $49,900, and now it's at $54,900.

Guess they just use a dart board to set the listing price

That car has the wrong everything. Malibu interior and everything aftermarket under hood. Not worth anywhere near $55k IMO.

Now that B-J is over with, many of the people selling will be thinking their car jumped in price.

Just curious. What do you see about the interior that makes it Malibu?

Door panels, seat upholstery, carpet... Also, it's a '69, but where are the headrests?

For a minute there I was scared into thinking that Don was selling, but then I looked more closely and saw that it is just a copycat (with aformentioned flaws).

I'll be curious to see what it actually goes for, if it goes.

What are the differences? I searched and compared the door panels and carpet to real SS cars and they look alike. As far as the headrests, wasn't there a headrest delete option for 69? Pls school me. I know there are kinds of things wrong with the engine bay and I'm not saying that it's real or could be a SS car, just wanting to know about the interior.

I just noticed it has doors from a '68.

It is a 134 car - 300 Deluxe SS, not an SS built on the Malibu platform.

The 300 Deluxe SS came with different door panels, floor covering (rubber mat), sun visors, etc. than what a Malibu SS396 would have.

The 2 door sedan in 69 had vent windows like they had in 68.

Compare this door panel to what they have on the Ebay car as this is what it should look like.

Doh!! I just realized the ebay ad advertising it is as a 300 deluxe car. Sorry, but thanks for the answers.

Nice $28-30K car...

I think even that would be high. underhood looks like poo-poo, not a real ss etc....

I'd say 20k. They are nuts if they think that car is worth 50k....NUTS.

There are LOTS of dealers that have had the same cars on the lot for many, many years....

I believe the car is a real SS. He sent me pictures of some things on it that prove to me it is a real SS anyway.
I agree it's not worth the 50K, but is a pretty rare piece regardless of the asking price.
