if you live anywhere that it gets hot and humid in the summer, keep it and make it work. spent months looking for parts to restore my 67 system several years back. I live in "LA" (lower alabama)..

Absolutely keep it. These systems can be changed to 134 fairly easily I am told, so you could keep it and have it functional.

I second the concept of original parts!

That decision will depend on the part of the country you live in. If you live in the south where humitidy and heat are insane during the summer. A/C is a nice thing to have.

I with the rest. Even AC in MN during the summer is nice to have.

It depends a lot on the car. Is it a modified car? Unmolested original? If it's modified, I'd remove the factory stuff and buy a new aftermarket system. If the car is all original and you plan to keep it that way, get the old stuff working again.

With bmj, if its close to complete and just needs servicing keep it.
Personally I never liked the way they looked or performed so to the dismay of a few freinds I threw 100% of it right in the trash :D (kept the under dash vents though).
If it ever needs AC it will be an aftermarket system that is cleaner with no suitcase (cant stand those things). Its not like Caminos are a huge demand item anyway so Imo anyone that buys it wont care what system it has.
