I had thought before I took my intake to see if it was not mating up properly that I would try an 1/8" thick gasket instead of the 1/6" to see if it would make any difference in my engine woes.

I have been trying to get it to stop sucking oil. Maybe the intake maybe not. Tried all the tests to see if it was it with out any luck.

Pulled the intake any way and I'm having a performance shop look at the gaskets while they are still on the engine.

But Summit nor Jegs offer 1/8" thick on oval ports in their better gaskets like Ultra Seal or the performance Felpro.

But how well will it work? Guess it might be worth a try before I try to have the intake machined.

I think that the only 1/8" gaskets available are the regular Mr Gaskets. Not the Ultra Seal's. Why dont you take the gaskets down and let Ian look at them ? I talked to him today and he asked if I had heard any more as to what you were going to do.

I had some one look at the gaskets last night and he said it is not them. I can send them to Ian.

I just can't get off work right now to take them to Mattoon.

They showed no sign of failure.

It was Charlie ( Smith I think) of Charlies performance in Philo IL 217-684-2995 and 217-202-3983. He has been around forever, I guess.

He offered to do a tear down with me and report the findings back to Ian. I just don't know if I want to have Ian do it and not have it right again.

Was there oil film in the intake ports?

couple of questions...... are you runing a pvc valve ?? do you have baffles in valve covers ??sometimes its the little things that snick up & bite ya ........ ;)

Yep, have a pvc, and it has the baffle. Been through that many times. With differing set ups.

Intake itself was clean and the gaskets had no oil on or around them.
