hello just putting together front end on a 68 chevelle. I'm putting on a new front disc brake setup with new spindles and everything. I was just torquing everything down when the lower ball joint called for about 80ft lbs - I did that but the castle nut when way below where the cotter pin would fit in. is this normal or am I missing a step. I need any input. thanks Brett

What brand ball joint and spindle??

Check to be sure the taper is seated. Loosen the nut carefully and verify the BJ holds on the taper against the spring pressure.

If it does you can use a washer to lift the nut. Be sure to support A-arm when you remove the nut, just in case.
