I'm about to assemble an engine and I wanted to get my torque wrench checked for accuracy. Its a Craftsman clicker style and its about 10 years old. Where or who does this?

Too bad you're not a little closer...I could easily check it at my work.
We've got a certified machine in the Tool Room just for this purpose. Our mechanics are required to verify/check a TQ wrench very often. ;)

Check the phone book for "calibration service". What I do is use an adapter that allows me to check my clicker wrench with a beam type torque wrench. Set them at 90 º to each other and pull on the beam type. If it clicks at the correct torque , the wrenches agree and all should be well.

No need for a lunch.:o
Cover shipping both ways and I'll be glad to do this.
And if it is out of spec, I'll get it adjusted at "no additional cost". ;)

OR...I'll loan you my Snap On which I KNOW is correct and you can compare it to your wrench's readings.
