A friend bought a new fuel tank and sender for his `70 from Classic. It only has 1 fuel tube out the top of the sender. Obviously it needs a vented cap, but neither Stant nor Classic can find him one to fit the filler neck. HELP.....

Surely the mfg built the tank with some cap in mind. Contact them, they should be able to tell you what fits. If the tank is for a Chevelle and not a Camino or wagon, it must have a vent somewhere. A vented cap will spill fuel since the filler tube is very low.

Pat, the tank came without a cap, and Classic really doesn't want to help. They told my friend they wouldn't tell him who mfg's the tank, but that they would call on his behalf. When they called him back, they said to use a particular Stant cap #. When we called Stant, they said that # did not exist. Back to square 1!
