I found a rust free trunk floor that was cut out of a 1971 Old's Cutlass. Will the tool markings and floor pattern of the Cutlass match what I have in my 1968 Chevelle? I need basically the entire floor and about 3-inches up the axle hump towards the rear seat. I was hoping to butt weld the rust free panels in and have all of the raised pattern areas match.

Good chance it'll work but I don't think the raised areas will be the same.

It should fit and look the same. Ever notice that the replacement trunk floor kits are all the same for 68-72? ;)

similar, not the same. as stated you could make it work. The biggest difference is at the rear (bumper side) 68/69 are different from 70-72. The other difference will be the shelf. alot of differences between the years in this area.

I could not pass up buying a rust free trunk floor for $40.00, so I ended up buying it and bringing it home. Whoever cut the floor out did a fairly nice job of cutting it out, but they cut it down the center for shipping purpose. Both end pieces still have the fuel and support braces in place. With the braces in place, it is kinda hard to lay it in my trunk and see if everything lines up, but there do appear to be some areas where the tooling pattern is off a bit.....If I can not get it to work for me, I'm sure I can find an oldsmobile person who can use it. Both pieces are very nice and will sand blast up and look like new metal.
Thanks for the responses!!

for $40 it's worth making it work, even if it's not 100% correct! nice score.

That sounds like something I seen advertised on Minneapolis Craigslist recently.
