norhardt Jan 18th, 09, 5:28 PM I have a 1970 chevelle 396 that was built in van nuys and sold in calf. Car has factory air. Did these cars come with smog control? Also car has aftermarket front wheel liners. Did this car come with plastic ones or metal? Thanks jeff oldtimebaseballfan Jan 18th, 09, 5:35 PM If the engine is the 396-350 horse, it should have a charcoal cannister mounted near the front of the engine compartment, on the driver's side. It's a 396-350 does have the charcoal canister, but no smog pump.
