Few questions guy's.

Stock gears look to be 3.23 gears? Just built the motor and used the 280H cam. Looking to replace the posi with a locker and wanted to know what gears would be best for street/strip power combo? Stock axles.Maybe 3.55 gears?
Thanks

I haven't seen any 3.23 gears in these cars. If it's a 12 bolt then it's probably a 3.31. If it's a 10 bolt then it's probably a 3.36. Either way I'd keep them if you are going to drive on the highway. If you don't plan on getting on the highway then a 3.73 might be good.

Stock 12 bolt. Don't have them out yet. 3.31 gears sounds about right.I rotated the tires and took a guess.

Thanks

Yeah 3.31's sound about right. The stock posi is a decent piece if you are still using your stock axles etc. You aren't going to notice much difference going from 3.31's to 3.55's. I would jump to 3.73's.

The 3.31 is a very popular geear and no longer available new. Many people are looking for them. They are a great gear for a car that gets driven.

I'd leave it all alone if nothing is wrong with the posi unit.
3.31's are a great all around gear. My heavy car w/a mild 454 runs mid/low 12's with them.
