can driving your car without the fan shroud cause it to over heat? mine broke, it was the wrong size, and it broke, so I ordered one, but now the ride is overheating, and I'm wondering if it's as simple as that. any help would be greatly appreciated.

The short answer is YES. Get the shroud on there before too long.
