I was 1970 Elky and I was trying to find a code on it and all I could find was "12345" upside down. Where could it be? The axle looks original and I can't see why it would be replaced. Please help.

The axle code should be stamped on the foward passenger side of the axle.You may need to clean off the dirt to see those tiny stamped numbers.Good Luck

I looked at it and I found some codes, but they don't match any of the ones on your rear axle codes page. It says FJ 02215. Another code found was GM 51. Please help. I would really like to decode this thing.

According to Chilton manual 6840 , the letters FJ represent years 68 & 69 with a gear ratio of 3.08 . Hope this helps .
