Not 1, not 2 but THREE VW camper vans getting extra air time? WTH. This auction is getting pretty sleazy. They lean up against a copo chevelle to get a better photo of VW bus? I'm watching Bonanza reruns tonight........

I agree. I was at the auction yesterday when they sold a VW bus for over $50k after the previous couple of muclecars were $20-$30k. I thought WTH??? They're laughing all the way to the bank.

Seems to me that B-J is loosing their reputation of only allowing high quality cars in.

The old hippies have money now and want to relive the 60's.

I think it's all one big conspiracy!!! :clonk: But yes , I agree that seems strange. Good news is I have a 64 Beelte that I'm hanging onto for a few years.!!!

Dean it's Craig Jackson's insistence that his auction remain 100% No Reserve. (I want to say 04 or 05 was the first year it was 100%) Mix in the depressed prices of todays market and THAT is why this year is the year for crap, odd and less than spectacular offerings.

I'd like to know how many sellers there this week are new too the process and by weeks end will realize how much they are being raped for "the honor" of seeing their sleds sold on live TV??? :D

ps
$50k beetle buses? Reminds me of the $125k amphi-cars a couple years ago. Things that make you go, "WTF"??? lmao

They don't keep the camera on the cars enough for me, to many shots of fat, old rich guys bidding on their next toy, and the sound of the auctioneer himself about drives me up the wall.

And, driving, (pushing), the cars away while there is still bidding going on is wrong too IMO.

Still, some of the cars bring back a lot of great memories.

I'm watching BJ on SpeedTV's webcams.

No stupid commentary from those "authorities" on stage with the blue shirts. No commercials. You only hear the auctioneer.

Did I mention no commercials?

BTW, it's 13* outside, what else am I gonna do? :p

Whats mad is TV had commercials while the 69 L-78 sold for $52,000, as only seen on the Speed TV.com

Yeah, and that car was sweet! I've actually enjoyed watching this auction non-stp for almost 7 hours, 3 of which were while working. :D

A buddy is selling lot # 1044, a Glacier Blue '69 SS 396 Convertible. I'd like to watch it on TV, but if a commercial comes on, I'm covered.

You called me...that's what you did! Dang...it's hard to hear in there:D

Not everyone in the world (gasp!) is into Camaros and Chevelles. There was more than one person that I talked to that was bidding on a car that was their FIRST car...whether it be a Microbus, a VW Bug or a 1955 Chevy truck...

It seems to me that the hotter selling things this go around are the VW's, mid-50's trucks and the second gen Camaro Z28's. Just like a few years ago when the Boss 429's were all the rage...and the Hemi craze before that!

Take Barrett-Jackson for what it actually is...a place to meet up with your friends...make some new friends...drink (if you like to do that-not me, thanks!), see some cool cars...and maybe, just maybe get a deal on a car...

Thanks for the calls toinght Rick! I will talk to you in the morning:beers:

I am old and fat and hoping to get rich some day so I will not knock it.
