i'm trying to wire my 65 hardtop and i could really use some help.
first of all does anyone know where I could find a complete firewall forward wireing diagram?
I am missing one half of the plug that plugs into the fuse box on the firewall side.
the one i have has everything i need in it I believe, but I am very courous what the others are.
my car has just the basics, its prostreeted out.
tubed caged the whole nine yards, but it ain't going nowhere with out the wireing.
the one plug i have is the one with the main red power wire going in to the dash, the alt wires and the lights.
so if anyone with a 65 could tell me what things that other plug goes too, or maybe take a picture, I would really appreciate it.
Any kind of help would be appreciated.
thanks alot

Patrick, Although John Muha or Elree Colby may see this post, I think you would get better results if you posted in Electrical Forum a little farther down the page.

WELCOME to the BEST site on the net.

Not sure about '65 my 67 has two separate harness' under the hood, looking at the firewall the one which plugs in on the right is the lighting harness and has wires running to the headlights, horns and alternator, amoung other things. The plug on the (other) right (duh) goes to the coil, distributor and starter solenoid.

Which plug are you missing and are you just missing the plug or are you missing the entire harness?

I agree this should be in electrical but I wouldn't double post the Q just yet, maybe the administrator will move it? Bill K?

Sound like what you are missing is the engine harness. If I'm not forgetting something it contains:
Wiper wires
Oil sender wire
Temp sender wire
Coil wire
Starter solenoid wires
You can buy a basic one here or order a customized one for add-on HEI ignition.

Basic wiring diagrams (schematic) can be found here but the schematic is also in the assembly manual which is a better buy.
