Are the 70 chevelle and the 70 elcamino front wheel well opening mouldings the same?

Absolutely not!!!
The 2-4dr cars are the same and the Elky-wagons are the same.
Look down the side of an Elky (or wagon), it is straight. Then look down the side of a 2-4dr. They have a noticeable bulge at both wheel opening areas. This bulge on 2-4drs makes the shape of the sides, and thus the wheel opening shapes, different. I have no clue why, but the 70-72 Elkys and wagons retained the straight line sides of ALLLLLLLLLLL of the 68-69 bodies, while the 70-72 cars got the bulges. ;)
As a result, the wheel opening moldings of 2-4dr and Elky-wagons are different!
Also, the FRONT fenders, headlight frames and 71-72 park light lens and chrome frames are different than those same parts between 2-4dr cars and Elkys-wagons. BUT, the bumpers, grills and hoods of 70-72 cars, Elkys, and wagons DO interchange.
Have I thoroughly confused you?
