I am finally pulling the chevelle out of mothballs and putting it back together. I was running a long water pump in the 67, but I misplaced the water pump, alternator and brackets somehow. Since I am buying new parts, might as well bo more correct and put the short water pump and driver's side alt mount.

I bought a reproduction alternator mount; the lower is cast iron and the upper is stamped steel (dynacorn). I am unimpressed with the fitment of the $40 + $30 mounts.

It looks like I am going to need to do some moderate trimming, welding and bending to the upper mount so I can get both mouning bolts through it.

The lower needs to have it's holes opened up so I can get the bolt through the transverse hole over the exhaust port.

Is this normal?

engine is 396, intake is performer 2-0, water pump is weiand Al, heads are 3993820, no other belt driven acc's except water pump and alt.
