I put my El camino in a local World of Wheels Show. Our version is called "The Cavalcade of Customs". It was a pretty good time. It was a little hectic getting the car in and out of the building but I was rewarded with a best in class award. I also about fell out of my chair when I checked the local news website and saw my car was used in the story http://www.wcpo.com/content/news/localshows/autonews/story/Cavalcade-Cruises-Into-Cincinnati/rZD6oJbtG0S5ugSJDscc6Q.cspx . It was pretty exciting for me.

Another cool this is that I got to meet Chip Foose. We were the very last ones in line. I got my award signed, a head shot of Chip, and this poster of my car I had made. I am waiting for a copy of the picture we took with Chip. Say what you may about those TV car builders but he seems like a genuinely nice guy. He spent 3-5 minutes with about everyone in line and probably 10 with us. It did make the line take forever but it was worth it.

All I can say about the 67 is that it is a El camino and that somewhere their is a old hispanic woman missing a couch and a couple of chairs.

A huge CONGRATS to ya. It's obvious it's a award WELL deserved. Sweet ride!

Now for whomever did that to the 67,, please just shoot them and put us out of our misery. That is.... well ,it makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a stick!

Congrats on earning the trophy and the news coverage! :beers:

Bet you never thought that was going to happen when you were on your back, on a cold floor, covered in undercoating.

Congrats on the award. What are those ugly round things in the bed of that 67? Poor truck:sad:

Thanks for the compliments everyone. That poor poor 67, I wonder if those compartments are to help him sneak a few buddies across the border? At least they would be comfortable in those soft looking pillows. Also you gotta give him props for the great low tech air bag (padded dash).

You can meet chip foose at yearone during the progeria research event every year .for 100 bucks you can put your car in the inner circle to be judged by chip and also get an autographed photo of chip with your car.

That's cool! Where is Year One? Is it in Georgia? That would be a cool road trip but it would be a little bittersweet. Progeria is a terrible disease. I hope they are successful in finding a cure some day

Congrats Dave! I was there on Sunday too! Your car looks great, well deserved win! As for the '67, well, I'm speechless from laughing too hard! I'm not one who likes standing in line so I missed Chip Foose but I did get a pretty good deal on a new air compressor!
