I resently bought a L-88 lift off hodd for my 68 chevelle. It came off of a 69 and fit the 69 good. I know when switching between the two you need to switch hinges. However this is a lift off so i thought i wouldn't have to. I tryed it on my car and it is the same dimensions as the bold on hood i had but there is a slightly larger gap where the hood meets the fenders that wasn't there before. Its not lineing up correctly. The windshield wipers also get stagged on it because ther is a 1/4 lip in the back. My question is, is it not fitting because I haven't put hood pins in yet or will i have to make fabrications to get it to work right? I couldn't open the pic. It's not uncommon to have to modify fiberglass parts. Mark and cut/grind out the rear flange area that's giving you trouble with your wipers. I'd unbolt the factory hinges and bolt up an metal angle that you could drill and mount your rear hood pins on.
