I have a '69 SS 396 Chevelle with a four speed and ordered Super Comp headers from Hooker. I tried #2217-1 and #2205-1 which hit the frame on the driver side. The tubes barely miss the steering shaft by an eighth inch. Hooker tech says the frame has a problem-I doubt it. The motor mounts and frame stands are BB and I think they are correct. Has anybody got a clue how to fix this? Is there are universal header that works?

check your motor mounts make sure they are installed properly hooker headers usually fit really well and I have not had that problem you are having but they are snug fit good luck make some noise

check motor mounts for extreme wear ext. if all is stock on your ride, and not worn out, then somebody from hooker needs to show us they will fit.
