sorry i dont have much info on the engine or year. personaly im a nismo(nissan) fan but im trying to help a friend out whos having a problem.

its a early 70s late 60s chevelle ss with the 396.
everything is stock, he baught the silver street series crane roller rockers. I believe he needs new studs? because the new rockers are only held on by maybe 5 threads, which doesnt seem too safe.

but my Q is, his stock springs and push rods should be fine shouldnt they? its only a change from 1.7 ratio to 1.72, and to my knowledge springs only need to be changed from cam specs and rpms.

well thats it, ANY help is greatly appreciated!!!!!

Ok I'm no expert here but I will try to give you some info. What kind of nuts are you using?
If you have at least 1 0r 2 full threads through the nut when the lash is properly adjusted it should not be a problem with good lock nuts. Make sure there is clearance at the bottom of the rocker around the stud boss, it may be hanging up there and need some clearancing done. See this tech info for more on that(pdf file from crane)

as far as the increased ratio, this will move the valve further thus compressing the spring more, I don't think it is that much but You should try to find out what the recommended installed height is and make sure you will not be getting any spring bind. Sorry thats about all I can give you.
