Hi guys and gals. I am a Corvette owner (1971 Convertible) but love all classic Chevy's. My cousin has a 1972 Malibu Convertible. His power top is slow going up and down. There looks to be air in the hydraulic lines but I think this is normal. Where is the fluid reservoir and how is it filled? When he bought this car a few years ago the top pump and lines were new and it worked like a champ. I don't see a reservoir anywhere so I am assuming it’s on the pump itself. Now that Convertible weather is almost upon us, we are getting our cars ready for the season.
Thanks graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Fluid reservoir is mounted on the side of the pump motor, and the whole assy is mounted behind the rear seat under the well liner. You can top it off with ATF if needed.

Thanks Dave.
It looks like the fluid in the lines is light purple though. I wonder if the previous owner was using Power steering fluid instead????

If it is indeed light purple, it may be DOT 5 brake fluid.

I thought that might be correct too (DOT5) My cousin is on his way over and we are going to "Play".
Thanks
