I have a warm 350 with a 700r4. As i climb a gear, close to before its about to shift, a 'wooshing' sound comes from either the engine or front of tranny. Its a soft noise, but enough for me to notice. What could it be?
Also, around that same time, i hear a clicking sort of sound coming from the engine. Could that be the lifters? maybe one or more is out of adjustment. Also, the engine seems to lope a bit-not a consistant rumble... maybe all these symtems are tied together...ideas?

"whoosing" noise is probably a loose spark plug.
