How much voltage should come across the resistor wire in the ignition circuit? 67 SS 396/325 stock points distributor ... I think I may be frying my condensor ... car running erratic ... My multimeter shows 10.15 volts at the coil. Is this too much ... I seem to recall hearing it should be around 7 or so ... Can anyone please clarify this? Thanks in advance ... sdtsdt

That sounds about right. It's 7 volts when the points are closed and battery voltage when the points are open so when they are switching you get a voltage in between.
