Hey gang,
I've got a problem with my wipers. They were working fine about four months ago. Now we here in southern california are getting a bit of rain. After this time on no use I turned them on and got nothing. How do I figure out if my problem is a bad switch, wiring or a faulty wiper motor? Any ideas? Need help.... I'm told rain is in the forcast!
Thanks!

Will the wipers only work at higher speeds then when you turn them off the wipers will get stuck in the middle of the windshield? I have seen this on many Chevy's new and old. If this is the case, the contacts may be stuck or burnt in your motor and you are looking at a whole new motor.

No. When I turn on the switch nothing happens. High or low. They worked a few months back with no problems. I went out the other day and flipped the switch and nothing.

Turn the key on and see if you have 12 volts to ground on the yellow wire. If you do try grounding the light blue wire while it is still connected to the motor. Should be able use a probe while the connector is still plugged in to ground that wire. Motor should run by grounding that wire.

Rain-X. I swear by the stuff.
Run 12 volts to your wiper motor to see if the motor is still good. Then see if you're getting power to the switch. If all these things work, and you short the switch and nothing happens, then you need a new switch. I suggest investing in a good quality testlight. Its saved me many times.
