I am thinking about using the POR-15 engine paint system on my LS-6. Do I need to copletely remove all the old paint? I do not plan on taking the engine apart(only has 2000 mi. on it). What would be the best way to remove old paint without harming gaskets & getting crap down the intake or exhaust ports?

Generally the pOR 15 needs unpainted metal to bite, but they can give you full info.

POR is only as strong as what you paint it on. Try to get down to bare metal and it won't come off if applied properly.
