What's up everyone! I'm new to this site, so go easy on me. I'll get straight to the point. While I was racing down the Irwindale Dragstrip,(which by the way is an awesome strip) I noticed a loud humming/whistling noise at around 5200, which is my shift point. At first I thought it was my carb being starved because I'm using the stock 4-barrel carb. My local speed shop said that it could be my converter. I have a stock '72 350 long block with the stock cam, headers, RPM intake, Accel billetproof distributor, 2 1/2" Flowmasters, a rebuilt TH350, a 2100 stall, and stock 2.73 gears. Everything still seems to be fine and nothing has blown up, but I want to know what is causing this damn noise. Please help.

I'll suggest you may be going lean. I'm guessing you have a Q-Jet, which makes changing jetting difficult since the air horn has to come off. Sorry, I don't have any other ideas.
Are you going to the Cash Bash/Summit race next Friday at Irwindale? I'll be there. Look for my white 67 El Camino with no front bumper.

I have an Edelbrock carb and I really do not think that I am going lean because when I had my car dynoed at Superior Automotive, I had the jets changed for that reason.
Will you be racing next Friday? Can anyone race? Now that I know, I will be sure to show up.
