Is there a way to buff up aluminun trim. I,ve got these pieces along my rocker panel and there seems to be a clear coating of some sort on them.I had all the rest of the stainless done but we found these two to be aluminum Thanks.

Your rocker moldings are indeed, aluminum, anodized aluminum. Basically, they don't buff. Abaout all you can do is clean them real good. Less than a year ago I bought new ones from Chev for 70-72. You didn't say what year yours was.

The anodizing can be removed and then the aluminum will polish up very nicely. Swap meet vendors that specialize in buffing supplies sell an anodizing remover. Its a liquid, about $12 per pint. Wipe it on the aluminum and let it sit 10-15 minutes and then wash off. It took me 3 applications to remove all anodizing from my aluminum trim.
If you aren't going to a swap meet anytime soon, e-mail me; I have an 800 number at home and you can probably order direct.
